The TRIMEDX Foundation sent 14 volunteers on 5 medical mission trips to kick off our 21st year of service. Together, Ashley Casilli, Josetta Caudill, Ellis Coleman, Bill Dixon, Charlie Hanover, Kyle Havens, Jose Gonzalez, Jonathan MarcAurele, Jerry Maddox, Tim O’Neill, Brandon Plank, Tim Reitz, Greg Taylor, and Ta Vannarath volunteered more than 360 hours to support our medical partners across the African continent and throughout the midwestern United States.
Volunteer veterans Bill Dixon, Greg Taylor, and Ta Vannarath (pictured above) were among the first to arrive at Kenya Relief’s Brase Medical Clinic in 2025. The team ensured the clinic’s facilities and medical equipment were ready to receive patients awaiting critical healthcare services, including endoscopy procedures, OB-GYN services, and pediatric surgery.
The Biomed team performed preventative maintenance on anesthesia machines and sterilizers and trained staff on general machine maintenance and calibration. The facilities team inspected electrical systems, cleaned HVAC units, and identified critical maintenance upgrades.
A second TRIMEDX Foundation volunteer team will return to Kenya Relief later this year.
Beit CURE Hospital of Zambia – Lusaka, Zambia
Josetta Caudill, Ellis Coleman, Jerry Maddox, and Tim Reitz flew to Lusaka, Zambia, in February to support
Facilities lead Jerry evaluated the septic system, solar system, water treatment system, and electrical panels in addition to troubleshooting the hospital’s backup generator and restoring functionality to the casting oven and air compressor (pictured below).
Ellis and Tim trained hospital staff to service autoclaves and calibrate C-arms to support smooth surgical operations (pictured right).
Josetta expanded TRIMEDX Foundation’s hospital administration services, observed patient flow, and outlined opportunities to support patient-caregiver interactions.
Hope Healthcare Services – Avon, Indiana
Kyle Havens completed the foundation’s first visit of the year to local partner Hope Healthcare Services in Avon, Indiana. The non-profit clinic provides affordable, quality health solutions to neighbors without health insurance in Hendricks County.
Kyle completed 5 preventative maintenance inspections for the clinic, supporting the clinic’s work offering primary, specialty, dental, and mental healthcare services.
First-time volunteer Ashley Casilli joined Charlie Hanover and Brandon Plank in Louisville, Kentucky, to support medical surplus recovery organization (MSRO), SOS. SOS improves global health and the environment through the recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies.
Over the course of two days, the team serviced 95 medical devices and identified opportunities for future volunteer trips.
Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach – Springfield, Illinois
Jose Gonzalez led new foundation volunteer Jonathan MarcAurele on the foundation’s first visit of the year to Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach (HSMO), another MSRO, located in Springfield, Illinois.
Together the team worked to service anesthesia machines, ventilators, operating room equipment, and an endoscopy tower. The TRIMEDX Foundation will send two more volunteer teams to HSMO in 2025.
